The Jagz Hotel, a leading hospitality player based in Ibadan, has unveiled ambitious plans to expand across Africa, betting big on the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) as a cornerstone of its long-term growth.
In a press briefing in Ibadan, Managing Director Lugard Agbomoagan announced the appointment of Mr. Jonathan Odia as the new General Manager. He also revealed plans for the 2026 Jagz Hospitality Conference, signaling the hotel’s intent to solidify its role as a continental brand.
Agbomoagan positioned The Jagz as an emerging African hospitality brand with a forward-looking strategy designed to cater to the evolving needs of both business and leisure travelers across the continent. He pointed to Africa’s deepening economic integration, cross-border trade, and rising investment flows as powerful tailwinds for the industry.
“As Africa continues to experience increased trade, cross-border business engagement, and investment opportunities under frameworks such as the AfCFTA, we believe hospitality brands must evolve to serve a new generation of African and international travelers,” Agbomoagan said.
The expansion plans include adding more rooms, upgrading guest facilities, improving infrastructure, and a targeted push into Abuja. The Jagz is positioning itself to compete on a global stage, betting that African hospitality and tourism are poised for a major leap forward.
