A senior figure in the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, Buba Galadima, has thrown down the gauntlet, urging Nigerians to set aside their differences and unite behind a single goal: voting President Bola Tinubu out of power in the 2027 elections. Galadima, speaking at the inauguration of the NDC’s National Reconciliation Committee—a body created to mend fences after contentious primary battles—did not mince words. He alleged that Tinubu has engineered the Electoral Act to serve his own interests, claiming the legislation was crafted and polished by the president himself before it ever reached the National Assembly. The implication, he argued, is a system designed to choke off rival parties from fielding credible candidates.
“Tinubu is only protecting himself and the APC, making it nearly impossible for other parties to even produce candidates,” Galadima charged. “He isn’t thinking about a real contest with anyone, but we won’t let that stand.
