Zamfara State Governor Dauda Lawal has felicitated with the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, on the occasion of his 58th birthday.
In a statement issued in Gusau on Saturday by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, Lawal described the APC chairman as a valuable asset to the party and to Nigeria’s political development. The governor commended Yilwatda’s academic credentials, leadership qualities, and commitment to strengthening the party’s internal cohesion.
“On his birthday, I felicitate with our Chairman, Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, a refined academic and committed party leader who prioritises the development of the All Progressives Congress,” Lawal said.
The governor noted that Yilwatda’s leadership and vision had played a vital role in advancing key initiatives within the party and fostering greater cooperation among its members. He specifically praised the chairman’s conduct during the APC’s recent primary Elections, citing it as evidence of knowledge, discipline, sincerity, and a commitment to fairness.
“Your handling of the recent All Progressives Congress primary elections shows your knowledge, discipline, sincerity, and commitment to doing what is right,” Lawal added.
According to the governor, Yilwatda’s experience spanning academia, public service, and partisan politics remains a significant resource for both the APC and the country. Lawal expressed confidence that the national chairman would continue to contribute to the party’s growth while providing leadership that deepens unity among members.
The governor wished Yilwatda many more years of good Health, wisdom, and success in his service to the party and the nation.
Yilwatda, a former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, assumed the APC national chairmanship at a time when the party is focused on reinforcing its internal structures and consolidating its political position ahead of future electoral cycles.
