The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress in Niger State, Dr Mohammed Kpautagi, has named former Commissioner of Works Mamman Musa Bosso as his running mate for the 2027 election, pledging a campaign centred on policy solutions rather than political rhetoric.
Kpautagi made the announcement at the IBB Pen House in Minna during the formal presentation of Bosso as the party’s deputy governorship candidate. He said the selection was driven by Bosso’s political experience, administrative record and capacity for collaboration, describing the ticket as a blend of political insight and technocratic competence.
The ADC candidate outlined a campaign focus on insecurity, Healthcare deficiencies, education gaps, youth unemployment, road infrastructure and the prudent management of public resources. He said the party would tour communities across the state to seek voter support through peaceful and orderly engagement.
“We want a campaign that is based on issues and solutions, not propaganda, intimidation and hatred,” Kpautagi said. He listed the rehabilitation of hospitals and schools, strengthening security, road construction and tackling youth joblessness as immediate priorities for an ADC administration, alongside transparent governance centred on citizens’ needs.
Responding, Bosso called his nomination a call to service and pledged to work with Kpautagi to deliver accountable, people-oriented leadership. He said a key priority would be restoring the proper functioning of ministries, departments and agencies, alleging that the current system had concentrated control in the hands of one individual at the expense of statutory institutional roles.
Bosso said the ticket was committed to securing a better future for residents, particularly young people and children, through effective governance and collective decision-making.
The ADC state chairman, Abdulhamid El-Waziri, urged voters to elect credible leaders capable of addressing the hardship confronting citizens.
Bosso previously served as commissioner in multiple portfolios — including Works, Youth and Sports, Water Resources, and Budget and Planning — under the administration of former governor Abubakar Sani Bello.
