Deputy Governor Hadiza Balarabe led a Kaduna State government delegation to Zangon‑Kataf Local Government after attacks that killed ten residents and injured many others. Upon arriving at the palace of the Agwatyap, Dominic Yahaya, she conveyed the state’s condolences and strongly condemned the killings. Balarabe noted that the government has been working with the military and other security agencies since last week to address the situation, and she ordered the State Emergency Management Agency to conduct an immediate assessment and provide assistance to the affected citizens. The monarch thanked the deputy governor and the state government for the visit, expressing sorrow over the violent attacks, which he described as shocking after a period of relative peace and numerous efforts to promote coexistence. Also present were Administrator of the Kafanchan Municipal Authority Mrs. Pheobe Sukai‑Yayi and Zangon‑Kataf Local Government Chairman Mr. Francis Sani.
In a separate statement, All Progressives Congress governorship candidate Uba Sani condemned the renewed Tuesday‑night attack on the Zangon‑Kataf community. He said he was deeply pained by the loss of innocent lives and property and called the incident “one attack too many.” Sani urged security operatives to apprehend the perpetrators and prosecute them, emphasizing that such elements have no place in a decent society. He criticized the security agencies for failing to develop effective strategies against terrorists and bandits, noting that the lack of decisive action has left many communities desolate and allowed criminal elements to dominate. His statement, titled “This is one attack too many: we must break the cycle of impunity,” called for immediate and decisive action to end the cycle of violence.
