Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen has addressed mounting speculation linking him with a summer move to Arsenal, stopping short of ruling out a transfer while emphasizing his immediate commitment to the Turkish champions. The Nigeria international spoke to reporters after scoring twice in Galatasaray’s 2-2 draw against Corum FK in their league season opener, a performance that underscored his value to the club.
“There are always rumours during transfer seasons,” Osimhen said. “I will take care of my business. I am focused on my job; then we will see and think further.”
The 27-year-old’s comments leave the door open for a potential move before the transfer window closes, though he did not explicitly express a desire to join the Premier League side. Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly seeking additional attacking firepower ahead of the new campaign, with Osimhen among several names under consideration. The forward has previously acknowledged that playing in England remains a career ambition. “I’m working so hard to make sure that I achieve my dream of playing in the Premier League someday,” he stated in 2023.
Reports indicate that discussions involving Osimhen have so far been limited, primarily involving Galatasaray and the player’s representatives. The striker’s name also surfaced in separate talks between the two clubs regarding potential deals for Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri, though those conversations are understood to be distinct.
Any transfer would command a substantial fee. Galatasaray paid a club-record €75 million to sign Osimhen permanently from Napoli last summer following a successful loan spell. Since then, he has helped the Istanbul side secure back-to-back Turkish Super Lig titles, adding to the Serie A crown he won with Napoli in 2023.
