Enugu polls: LP raises alarm over plan to rig Nkanu East results

As collation of results continue after Saturday’s governorship and House of Assembly elections, the Labour Party in Enugu State has accused the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, of plotting to rig the election in Nkanu East local government area.

The alarm was raised Sunday morning by the LP Senatorial candidate for Enugu East senatorial District, Sir Kelvin Chukwu.

Media Talk Africa reports that the rescheduled senatorial election held on Saturday.

Chukwu, who replaced his murdered brother wrote:

“The PDP is set to rig election in Amankanu and Ugbawka and Owo. The PDP is planning to return number of figures far above number of accredited voters captured in the BVAS machines.

“The chairman of INEC and the Returning officer and the authorities should take note that Labour Party will not accept the truncation of the will of the people of Enugu state.

“We insist that all the results that will be returned from Ugbawka and Amankanu and Owo must be in accordance with number of accredited voters recorded in the BVAS machine.”
