Buhari sacks NYSC DG Fadah

Nigeria President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the removal of Brigadier-General Muhammad Kukah Fadah as the Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

Sources said Fadah’s removal was because he ‘exhibited glaring incompetence’ in the six months he has piloted the affairs of NYSC.

The Guardian gathered that Fadah has been ordered to hand over to the most senior civil servant in the NYSC to head it in the interim pending the appointment of a substantive DG by Buhari.

Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Sunday Dare, whose office supervises the NYSC also confirmed Fadah’s sacking.

Dare responded to an inquiry from Arise TV on Friday with a ‘yes’ to the questions about the removed NYSC DG.

Fadah assumed office as NYSC DG in May, 2022. He replaced Major General Shu’aibu Ibrahim.
