Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje, through the Ministry of Education, announced that the second term and Ramadan vacation will begin on 7 April 2023 for all day and boarding public and private primary and post‑primary schools in the state. In a statement issued by Aliyu Yusuf, Director of Public Enlightenment at the Ministry, parents and guardians of pupils in boarding schools were urged to send their wards home by the early hours of Friday, 8 April.

The ministry specified that boarding‑school pupils should resume classes on 30 April 2023, while day‑school students are to return on 1 May 2023. Parents, guardians, and students were asked to adhere to these dates. The ministry also wished everyone a successful, trouble‑free vacation and a blessed Ramadan, warning that appropriate disciplinary action will be taken against any students who default.
