DTCA to partner NYSC on national development

The Directorate of Technical Cooperation in Africa has expressed interest in forming a partnership with the National Youth Service Corps to mould Nigerian graduates in the diaspora for nation building.

Speaking during a courtesy visit to NYSC National Directorate Headquarters, in Maitama, Abuja, Director-General of DTCA, Rabiu Dagari, stated that many Nigerian graduates living outside the shores of the country were eager to return to Nigeria to contribute their quota to the development of the nation.

He therefore appealed to the NYSC management to facilitate the process adding that the DTCA in conjunction with African Development Bank and the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission had identified many other areas of collaboration that the NYSC could tap into and promised that his office would fashion out ways of making them feasible.

In his response, the Director General of the NYSC, Brigadier General YD Ahmed, said the management of the scheme had dwelt extensively on ways to maximise the potential of young Nigerian graduates for the common good of the nation during its last Annual Management Conference.

He assured his visitor that the scheme would key into the DTCA’s proposal after studying it in line with the NYSC Act.

“We’ll do our best to work in accordance with the NYSC Act”, he said.
