The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria announced the 2023 Hajj fare regime on Friday. In a Twitter post on the commission’s official handle, which our correspondent saw Friday night, the commission detailed eight different fare categories based on the pilgrim’s location.
Pilgrims departing from the Maiduguri and Yola centers in the North‑East will pay N2.89 million, which includes the $800 Basic Travel Allowance. For other northern states, the fare is set at N2.91 million. Pilgrims from Lagos, Ogun and Oyo states will be charged N2.99 million.
Participants from the southern part of the country—including Edo State and the entire South‑South and South‑East zones—will pay N2.97 million. Those from the Ekiti and Ondo zones are required to pay N2.88 million, while pilgrims from Osun State will pay N2.99 million and those from Cross River State will pay N2.94 million.
The commission also announced that April 21 is the deadline for remitting Hajj fares.
