The Kwara State House of Assembly has praised the Federal Government for approving the rehabilitation of four major roads under the Infrastructure Tax Credit Scheme. The projects cover a total of 294 km and include the Kosubosu‑Kaiama‑Bode Saadu road (130 km), Bacita‑Shonga‑Lafiagi road (83 km), Eiyenkorin‑Afon‑Offa‑Odo Ottin road (49 km), and the Okuta‑Bukuro road, which links the state to the Benin Republic (32 km). The Federal Executive Council granted this approval at its meeting on Wednesday, and President Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd) subsequently signed Executive Order 7, authorizing the BUA Group to carry out the rehabilitation.

Abdullahi Danbaba, representing the Kaiam/Kemanji/Wajibe constituency, invoked Order VII, Rule 40 of the House Rules to raise a Matter of General Public Importance. He called for appreciation of the Federal Government, the Kwara State Government, and the BUA Group for the road projects, a sentiment echoed by other Assembly members during Thursday’s plenary. In its resolution, the Assembly commended the Federal Government, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, and the BUA Group for this “monumental achievement,” noting that the improved infrastructure is expected to boost socio‑economic activities in Kwara State. The Assembly also urged the BUA Group to expedite the work and ensure that the projects are completed on time and to specification.

Similarly, the Kwara North Development Council has lauded the Buhari administration for approving the construction of these major roads across the zone. In a statement, KWANDCO Chairman Ahmed Muhammad described the inclusion of the four roads in the federal projects under Executive Order 7 as commendable. “On behalf of the people of Kwara North, Kwara State, and the commuting public, we appreciate the APC‑led Federal Government for addressing the plight of the people,” Ahmed said. He appealed to the BUA Group to commence work swiftly and maintain high quality, emphasizing that continuity and timely completion depend on proper funding and consideration of the affected communities.
