Prince Harry to attend King Charles’ coronation without Megan Markle

Buckingham Palace has confirmed that Prince Harry will be in attendance at King Charles’ coronation set to hold in May.

The announcement shared via the Palace’s website on Wednesday also revealed that the Prince’s wife, Megan Markle, will not be in attendance.

“Buckingham Palace is pleased to confirm that The Duke of Sussex will attend the Coronation Service at Westminster Abbey on May 6th. The Duchess of Sussex will remain in California with Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet,” the palace said in the statement.

While the couple’s representative confirmed that an invitation was extended to the Sussexes in March, it was unclear whether they would attend.

This is because the invitation came after the Duke’s explosive memoir ‘Spare’ which explored the unpleasant side of his relationship with the Royal Family.

The January 2023 publication featured claims by Harry that William, his elder brother, attacked him during an argument about Meghan, and that the altercation significantly worsened their relationship.

He also gave an interview with Dr Gabor Mate in March, where he shared stories about his struggle with drugs and the breakdown of his relationship with his father.

In what seems like retaliation by the Royal House, the Duke and Duchess were asked to vacate Frogmore Cottage, their British home, shortly after the interview aired.
