Kas Shobayo, also known as Kas Beats, is a singer and evangelist who believes that God is absent from many large churches in Nigeria. Speaking to Sunday Scoop, he said, “I don’t care about critics; I rather focus on good energy. People will always talk. In fact, if people don’t talk about you, then you’re a nobody.” He explained that gospel ministry requires a genuine calling: “One doesn’t just wake up one day and decide to become a pastor. If you are truly called by God, there is a big difference. You can enter a church and discern whether God is there. I have been to some big churches in Nigeria and found that God isn’t there. They are just business centres. If you are not called by God, it is dangerous to go into ministry.”

Kas, who now lives in the United Kingdom, also shared that he never collects tithes or offerings when he preaches. “Whenever I preach, I don’t collect tithes and offerings. When God called me, He did not tell me to take money from people. There is a way God provides me with money, so I do more crusades and seminars. Whenever I organise crusades and seminars, I actually give people food and other items, instead of collecting money from them.”
