A singer and evangelist, Kas Shobayo, aka Kas Beats, is of the opinion that God is not present in some big churches in Nigeria. He told Sunday Scoop, “I don’t care about critics; I rather focus on good energy. People will always talk. As a matter of fact, if people don’t talk about one, then one is a nobody. The thing about gospel ministry is that one has to be ‘called’ into it. One doesn’t just wake up one day and decide to become a pastor. If one is truly called by God, there is a big difference. One can enter a church and be able to discern if God is there. I have been to some big churches in Nigeria and found that God isn’t there. They are just business centres. If one is not called by God, it is dangerous for one to go into ministry.” The United Kingdom-based singer cum evangelist also stated that when he preaches, he does not collect tithes and offerings. He said, “Whenever I preach, I don’t collect tithes and offerings. When God called me, He did not tell me to take money from people. There is a way God provides me with money, so I do more of crusades and seminars. Any time I organise crusades and seminars, I actually give people food and other items, instead of collecting money from them.”
