NLC calls for massive recruitment to boost Jigawa’s civil service

The Jigawa State branch of the Nigerian Labour Congress, NLC, has called for a massive recruitment of workers to fill the existing vacuum in the state’s civil service.

Zamfara State’s NLC chairman, Comrade Sunusi Alhassan Maigatari, made the call in his keynote address at the International Workers Day held at Aminu Kano Triangle’, Dutse, the state capital.

He avowed that there is an existing huge gap in manpower in all ministries and parastatals in the state with the education and health sectors the worst-hit.

Maigatari explained that the state civil service requires attention for effective public service delivery, social and sustainable economic development in the state

According to him: “For the state to achieve its plans on growth and development, it must have adequate manpower and enabling working conditions for effective implementation of policies projects and programmes.”

The chairman commended Governor Badaru for executing various projects and programmes that transformed the state in several areas including health, education, agriculture, roads and the economy.
