Bola Ahmed Tinubu Shows Support for Nigerian Chef on a Mission to Break Guinness World Record

The President-elect of Nigeria, Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed his support for Hilda Bassey Effiong, popularly known as Hilda Baci, a Nigerian Chef who is on a mission to break the Guinness World Record for cooking.

Hilda Baci’s cooking project, “Cook-a-thon,” has garnered massive support from Nigerians, with thousands of people flooding her Instagram live session with encouraging comments.

Tinubu, who joined in via the comment section of the session, referred to her as ‘idan,’ which means “the real deal” in the Yoruba language. He encouraged Hilda not to break under the pressure but instead to break the record she set out to break.

“IDAN doesn’t break, she breaks records. We are rooting for you, Hilda,” read Tinubu’s comment.

The current Guinness World Record holder, an Indian chef Lata Tandon, set the record by cooking non-stop for 87 hours and 45 minutes in 2019.

Hilda aims to cook for 96 hours, an additional 9 hours to break the world record as the first human on earth to spend such an amount of time cooking.

Hilda Baci has generated a lot of buzz and her feat continues to capture the attention of many, with Nigerians from all walks of life showing their support for her.
