A huge setback for Arteta: Gabriel Martinelli out for the remainder of the EPL season

Arsenal’s young and talented forward, Gabriel Martinelli, will play no further part in the Premier League following his recent injury.

Despite the Gunners having two fixtures left, there is no possibility of Martinelli playing after suffering ankle ligament damage in their game against Brighton.

Moises Caicedo’s challenge forced the 21-year-old off in the 20th minute of the game, with the Brazilian sustaining significant damage to his ankle.

Reports suggest that Martinelli will be out of action for several weeks, but he will hopefully return in time for the Gunners’ pre-season in July, all things being well in terms of recovery.

The forward has been an invaluable player for the club this season, having recorded 15 goals in the league alone. His absence is a significant blow to Mikel Arteta’s team.
