In a statement released by Media Talk Africa, Daniel expressed his grief and eulogized the late business mogul, who was also the Olori Omoba Otunba Tunwase of Ijebuland and Asiwaju of Ijebu Christians.

According to Daniel, Otunba Balogun was a man who dedicated his life and work to the will of God. His approach to business was underpinned by deep reverence for the Almighty: “He brought the fear of God into everything that he did and believed in.”

The former governor added that the late Otunba Balogun played a vital role in promoting interfaith relationships and uniting Christians in the Ijebu community.

Expressing his personal feelings, Daniel stated that he and the deceased shared many common traits and that Otunba Balogun had been like a father to him.

“He was a man whom I have the greatest respect for, both in royalty and in the business world… Nigeria has indeed lost one of its illustrious sons,” remarked Daniel.
