Kano State Governor Requests Prayers for Peaceful Transition of Power

Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje, has called on clerics to lead prayers for a peaceful and seamless transition of power to the incoming administration on Friday. This call was made by the Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Muhammad Garba, in a statement released on Friday.

Governor Ganduje praised the people of Kano for their support of his administration, which enabled the successful implementation of various developmental projects. He emphasised the need to build upon the policies that have promoted peace in the state through fervent prayers.

Following the election, Alhaji Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party defeated Nasiru Gawuna of the All Progressives Congress and will be inaugurated as the new governor on Monday.

On Wednesday, Governor Ganduje presented the 2023 transition report to Yusuf and reiterated his commitment to ensuring a seamless transition of power. Additionally, he urged the incoming administration to carefully review the transition report and provide feedback for improvement where necessary.

All eyes are on Kano as the government transitions, and many are hopeful that the incoming administration will continue the trend of progress and peace in the state.
