“God Help Me Carry the Burden,” Says President-Elect Tinubu

Friday saw President-elect Bola Tinubu expressing his faith that God would help him carry the burden of leading Nigerians for the next four years, while on a tour of the Presidential Villa with President Muhammadu Buhari.

As they participated in the Juma’at prayers at the State House Mosque, the two leaders were followed by a large entourage of Presidency officials and security personnel; they were then guided on the tour by the State Chief of Protocols, Lawal Kazaure, through the Press Gallery of the State House – which is an adjoining space to the Council Chambers.

While there, Tinubu expressed his hope for good health in carrying the burden of the upcoming presidential term and meeting the dreams and aspirations of millions of Nigerians. “Help me God, to carry the burden, to face the challenges, and keep me in good health, to be able to fulfil the dreams and aspirations of millions of our people,” Tinubu said.

The statement suggests that Tinubu is aware that there are huge expectations for his office, and that he may face difficulties throughout his term as the President of Nigeria. Nevertheless, he remains optimistic and faithful that he can overcome whatever challenges come his way with the help of God.
