Kano State Governor, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje, is set to officially handover the leadership of the state to the Governor-elect, Engr. Abba Yusuf, today, May 28th, 2023. This was confirmed by the outgoing Commissioner for Information and Internal Affairs, Malam Muhammad Garba, in a statement released on Sunday.
The event is expected to take place at the Government House in Kano around 9 pm today. The Kano State Government Transition Committee has already communicated the development to the Governor-elect’s transition committee.
According to Garba, both committees met within the week to work out a harmonised agenda for the handing-over ceremony. During the meeting, a handing-over document was presented to the Governor-elect’s committee.
After the ceremony, Governor Ganduje is expected to lead the Kano delegation to the inauguration of Chief Bola Tinubu in Abuja on Monday, May 29th. Ganduje’s arrival in Abuja will be before the deadline set for the closure of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, for the inauguration ceremony.
The government has called on the people to continue praying for peace and development in the state.
