The Nigerian musical duo, Ajebo Hustlers, have opened up about the challenges they faced on their journey to success, including receiving advice from friends to quit music. The Port Harcourt-born duo revealed that they had to rely on the support of family members and friends while struggling to make a living from their craft.
Despite being advised to give up, the duo persevered, and their hard work finally paid off. They even had to rely on the generosity of singer D’banj’s younger brother, K-Switch, and other well-wishers who provided a roof over their heads during tough times.
Ajebo Hustlers made this known during their appearance on the latest episode of the Afrobeats podcast, hosted by Shopsydoo. They shared details of their journey, including the fact that they had to squat with K-Switch in 2016. Things remained tough, and they struggled in 2017 as nothing seemed to be working out for them.
“That time we were squatting because music was not working, and you now have friends that are telling you, omo, this music is not working, you sure say you try enter street,” they said.
The breakthrough finally came in 2019 when they collaborated with King Perry on a project that started bringing in some recognition, paving the way for their success.
