Amadi calls for the removal of politicians with fake certificates

The Director of the Abuja School of Social and Political Thoughts, Sam Amadi, has called on the election petition tribunals to take decisive action by declaring unelected candidates with fake certificates unfit for public office.

Amadi expressed deep concern over the proliferation of fake certificates among politicians, including those in prominent positions such as professors, lawyers, and doctors. He argued that this issue is plaguing the nation and undermining its progress.

In a tweet posted on Wednesday, the social critic emphasized the importance of the court’s role in protecting public ethics. He stated, “Fake Certificates and National Survival.”

According to Amadi, the prevalence of fake certificates is hindering Nigeria’s development and progress. He pointed out that no nation in Europe, Asia, or America has ever achieved significant advancement while grappling with widespread certificate forgery.

Asserting the necessity of upholding public ethics, Amadi urged the tribunals, including the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT), to declare any candidate with a fake certificate as unelected in various states such as Lagos, Enugu, Oyo, and many others.

Amadi concluded his message by stressing that the removal of any individual, regardless of their prominence or good intentions, who has forged any certificate from office is in the best interest of the nation. He made it clear that the court has a vital duty to safeguard public ethics.

This plea from Sam Amadi resonates with the growing concerns about fake certificates in Nigeria’s political landscape. It enlivens the ongoing discourse surrounding political accountability, ethical values, and the need for credible leadership. The nation awaits the response of the election petition tribunals in their endeavor to uphold the integrity of public office.
