Makinde appoints ex-AIG as Amotekun board chair in Oyo

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State has appointed retired Assistant Inspector-General of Police Sikiru Kayode Akande as the chairman of the Board of the Oyo State Security Network Agency, also known as Amotekun.

The governor made this disclosure on Monday.

Makinde also announced that he has reappointed all other members of the security outfit’s board.

He said that Mrs I.E. Akibode, a civil servant, is to serve as secretary of the board.

Makinde, in a letter signed by his Chief of Staff, Segun Ogunwuyi, charged the new chairman and the board members to see their appointments as a call to greater service.

The governor, while speaking further, added that the duo of the Special Adviser on Security to the Governor, Commissioner of Police Fatai Owoseni (retd), and Executive Assistant on Security to the Governor, Commissioner of Police Sunday Odukoya (retd), are statutory members of the board.

Other members of the board, according to the letter made available to Media Talk Africa through the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, are Col Bisiriyu Olayinka Olayanju, Mrs Hamzat Khadijat Ronke, Samson Ogunlowo, Commissioner of Police in the state, Oba Sunday Oladapo Oyediran, R.A. Babalola, Sunday Odukoya, and representatives of the Armed Forces of Nigeria.
