President Tinubu Participates In Benin Republic’s Independence Anniversary

Nigeria’s neighbour, Benin Republic has celebrated its 63rd Independence Anniversary amidst tight security and a spectacular display by the country’s armed forces.

Nigeria’s President, Bola Tinubu was the special guest of honour at the event.

Also in attendance were five Governors from Nigeria.

They include Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara, Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos, Seyi Makinde, Oyo, Dapo Abiodun Ogun, and Mohammed Bago of Niger State.

Shortly after he arrived at the venue, President Patrice Talon permitted proceedings to begin.

There was a spectacular parade by the Benin Police, Air Force,  Navy, Army, and Presidential Forces.

This was followed by a show of force by the military, where armoured tanks and vehicles were used for logistics supply in war situations.

Then came cultural performances by two groups.

The event, which had no speeches culminated with President Tinubu and his host taking time to wave at the happy crowd in various segments of the Amazon’s Arena, venue of the independence anniversary.

President Tinubu later had lunch with his host at the Presidential palace, Cotonou.
