Nigerian Troops Urged to Embody Warrior Ethos

The troops of Sector 3 of Operation HADIN KAI have been urged to adopt the warrior spirit in the ongoing counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency operations in their area of responsibility, especially in the Lake Chad region.

The Theatre Commander (TC) Joint Task Force North East Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), Major General Gold Chibuisi called on the troops to be professional in their conduct during his maiden operational and familiarization visit to Sector 3 Area of Responsibility.

On arrival at Mogonu the Sector Headquarters, the Theatre Commander was received by the Sector Commander Major General POA Okoye where he inspected and commissioned the remodelled Sector 3 Quarter Guard before heading to the operations room to receive a brief on the operational activities of the Sector.

Before his visit to Formations and Units under Sector 3 OPHK, Major General Chibuisi visited Sector 3 ‘Hall of Fame’ where he laid a wreath in honour of fallen heroes of the Sector.  Thereafter, he visited 403 Amphibious Brigade Baga and 19 Brigade  Cross Kauwa where he was briefed by various Field Commanders.

In an address to troops, the Theatre Commander who was impressed by their turnout, combat readiness and operational stance, lauded their resilience and efforts in the ongoing CTCOIN Operations.

While assuring them of adequate logistic support, the TC also charged them to neutralize all vestiges of terrorist elements as they continue to dominate their Area Of Responsibility.

Additionally, Major General Chibuisi commended the officers and men of Sector 3 for the numerous successes recorded against Boko Haram and Islamic State of West African Province terrorists. Hence, he charged them to continue to intensify the offensives and maintain an aggressive posture against the adversary.
