FG Approves Presidential Initiative to Enhance CNG Adoption and Boost Nigerian Automotive Industry

In a significant move to promote the use of cleaner energy and revitalize the Nigerian automotive industry, the federal government has given the green light for the establishment of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI).

Speaking on behalf of the President, Ajuri Ngelale, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, announced on Friday that the initiative aims to facilitate the adoption of 11,500 CNG-enabled vehicles across the country.

The initiative will also make available 55,000 CNG conversion kits for existing petrol-dependent vehicles, seamlessly transitioning them into the cleaner and more efficient CNG system.

Furthermore, the government is committed to supporting local manufacturing and assembly, in alignment with the presidential directive. This move not only holds the potential to boost economic growth, but it also promises to generate numerous employment opportunities and strengthen Nigeria’s automotive manufacturing capabilities.

“President Ahmed Bola Tinubu’s emphasis on the local assembly of CNG-enabled vehicles will not only spur economic development but also contribute to a greener and more sustainable future for our country,” stated Ajuri Ngelale.
