The Nigerian equities market continued its upward trend on Tuesday, following the bullish sentiments from the previous day. The all-share index rose by 0.44% to close at 65,499.67 points.
However, the overall market sentiment was negative, with 16 gainers and 26 losers.
During the trading session, a total of 293.46 million shares, valued at N4.12 billion, were traded in 5,895 deals.
Cornerstone Insurance Company emerged as the top gainer, with a 9.85% increase, closing at N1.34k. This was followed by Computer Warehouse Group, which recorded a 9.74% gain and closed at N4.28k. SCOA Nigeria also experienced significant growth with a 9.37% increase, closing at N1.40k.
On the other hand, Nigerian Breweries recorded a 10% loss, closing at N38.25k. Chellarams also suffered a 10% loss, closing at N3.96k, while Sunu Assurances Nigeria lost 10% and closed at N0.72k.
The most traded stock by volume was Transcorp Nigeria, with 41.4 million shares exchanged. Access Holdings came in second place with 36.2 million shares traded.
