Osun APC Warns Members to Exercise Caution with Omoluabi Caucus

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State has issued a warning to its members and supporters about the newly formed group, Omoluabi Progressives. The party also urged caution in dealing with the leader of the group, former governor of the state Rauf Aregbesola.

On Tuesday, in Ilesa, Aregbesola, who is the immediate past Minister of Interior, launched Omoluabi Progressives, a new group within the Osun APC.

In a statement signed by the Osun APC Chairman, Tajudeen Lawal, the party described the Aregbesola group as a mere attention-seeking charade, created to give false hope to his blind followers.

Lawal questioned Aregbesola’s motives, saying, “Is it because Aregbesola has suffered defeats at the Federal level, in Lagos, and in Osun States, that he has chosen to deceive the people of Osun State?”

He further added, “Aregbesola should know that the people of the state are now wiser and no longer trust him. The Osun State APC of today is stronger and more united, unlike the inglorious years when he controlled every aspect of the party.”

The Osun APC chairman implored Aregbesola to take a rest and align himself with the present political reality.

The Osun APC has consistently maintained that loyalists of Aregbesola were responsible for the party’s electoral defeat in the gubernatorial and general elections.

The party also asserts that members who were devoted to Aregbesola and the now-defunct The Osun Progressives (TOP), which supported the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), now regret their decision.
