In a recent press release, the Ekiti State Government has strongly refuted any involvement in an online advertisement soliciting applications for N5 billion in Federal Government palliative funds. The government cautions the public to be wary of the fraudulent scheme, emphasizing that the advertisement did not originate from them.
The state commissioner for information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, signed the statement on behalf of the government. He stated, “It has come to the notice of the Government of Ekiti State that some fraudsters, posing as state agents, have placed advertisements on various online platforms, inviting unsuspecting individuals to apply for the N5 billion Federal Government palliative funds.”
The government unequivocally disowns any and all online advertisements, as well as any other forms of communication, that seek applications for the palliative funds. The statement warns the people of Ekiti State to disregard any unauthorized advertisements purportedly representing the government’s interests.
Furthermore, the government underscores that it maintains official channels through which it communicates its decisions to the public. To seek clarification or make inquiries, members of the public are encouraged to contact the Office of the State Commissioner for Information.
