Eid-el-Maulud: Governor Diri Congratulates Muslims, Emphasizes Love and Unity

The Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, extends warm greetings to the Muslim community in the state and across the nation on the commemoration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad.

In an official statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Daniel Alabrah, the Governor highlights that Eid-el-Maulud is a momentous occasion to celebrate love and reflect upon the Prophet’s teachings on unity, compassion, and peace.

Governor Diri urges followers of Islam in the state to embrace the spirit of brotherhood, demonstrate practical love, and foster peaceful coexistence with others.

According to the statement, “On this auspicious occasion of the celebration of the Feast of Eid-el-Maulud, I extend my heartfelt felicitations to my Muslim brothers in Bayelsa State and across Nigeria.

“As we commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad, let us also take time to reflect upon his noble ideals and teachings on love, unity, compassion, and peace.

“I implore faithful adherents of Islam to exhibit practical love, patriotism, and ensure harmonious coexistence with others. The principles of good neighborliness and being our brother’s keeper are best manifested during this season of commemoration.

“Bayelsa remains a home for all, where, as enshrined in the Nigerian Constitution, everyone is free to practice their religion without hindrance or discrimination. Our administration has consistently encouraged freedom of worship and association.

“As the governorship election scheduled for November 11 approaches, let us shun all forms of violence and continue to maintain the prevailing peace in our state.

“May this Eid celebration bring forth greater prosperity and joy to all, as well as to our beloved state.”
