Speaker Abbas: Nigeria’s Journey to Greatness on Independence Anniversary

In celebration of Nigeria’s 63rd Independence Anniversary, the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, remains steadfast in his belief that Nigeria will overcome its current economic challenges.

Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen’s message, delivered through his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Musa Abdullahi Krishi, emphasizes the importance of maintaining hope and optimism amidst the prevailing uncertainties.

While acknowledging the prevailing issues such as inflation, currency devaluation, energy crises, and other economic challenges facing the nation, Speaker Abbas is confident that Nigeria will emerge triumphant.

In this spirit, the Speaker appeals to the organized labor represented by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) to reconsider their plan of embarking on an indefinite nationwide strike scheduled for Tuesday. Speaker Abbas emphasizes that such action would only worsen the situation rather than bring about positive change.

He implores organized labor to engage in meaningful dialogue with the Federal Government, suspending the impending strike to pave the way for amicable resolution of all pending issues.
