The ongoing escalation in the Gaza Strip is predicted to continue for at least 10 days, according to Iraqi Foreign Minister, Fuad Hussein. Hussein conveyed this assessment during a meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Tuesday.

“Unfortunately, we anticipate that the hostilities in Gaza will persist for a minimum of 10 days,” stated Minister Hussein. He further expressed concern that prolonged fighting could have implications for neighbouring countries.

The Iraqi Foreign Minister stressed the need for international intervention to bring an end to the violence and urged for a just resolution to the long-standing Palestinian issue.

Meanwhile, key figures within Israel’s ruling coalition parties have signified their support for the creation of an emergency government. Authorizing Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to act on its formation, the heads of these parties aim to address the critical situation at hand, as reported by Kan radio broadcaster on Tuesday.

In a call for action on Monday, Prime Minister Netanyahu appealed to the opposition to unite in forming an emergency government without imposing any preconditions. This move underscores the gravity of the current situation and the necessity for a unified response.
