Why I won’t probe Masari, by Gov. Radda

The Katsina State govenor, Dikko Radda, has mentioned he won’t probe the administration of his predecessor, Aminu Masari, as a result of he was a part of the federal government.

Mr Radda acknowledged this throughout an interview with the BBC Hausa Service on Thursday.

He mentioned: “There are no plans to probe my predecessor. And I have two reasons for saying that.

“First, I was part of those who formed the government of Aminu Bello Masari. So you don’t expect me to probe the government, which I was part of.

“And even if my predecessor wasn’t from the opposition party, I won’t probe him because it’s part of my principle.

“I have also realised that most of the probes conducted in the past didn’t result in anything meaningful.

“I am yet to see the positive outcome of any of those probes done in the past. It only heats up the polity and ruin very cordial relationships”, he mentioned.

According to him, his administration is decided to revive public faculties, enhance the safety scenario by way of the Katsina State Community Watch Corps, and improve civil service.

The governor additionally mentioned different governors within the North-West area are working in direction of adopting his administration template to ascertain their very own safety outfits.

Speaking on the ministerial appointment by President Bola Tinubu, Mr Radda mentioned the governors have been requested to submit three names from their respective states.

“You know, governors don’t appoint ministers. But the president only requested us [governors] to submit three names from which he would choose from.

“And I submitted the names of His Excellency the Former Governor of the State, Aminu Bello Masari, Hajiya Hannatu Musawa, and Arc. Ahmad Dangiwa”, Mr Radda added.
