Insecurity: Katsina govt introduces monthly allowances for Muslim clerics

Katsina State Government, on Monday, mentioned it has concluded plans to introduce particular allowances to Friday Mosques clerics, their deputies, Mua’dhins (callers of prayer) and Ward Heads to encourage them within the struggle towards insecurity.

The state governor, Dikko Radda, who revealed this after inaugurating the Steering Committees for the Katsina Community Watch Corps, KCSWC, nonetheless, didn’t point out Christian clerics within the deliberate allowance.

A press release by his Chief Press Secretary, CPS, Mr Ibrahim Kaula-Mohammed, quoted the governor saying that the committee would collaborate with different safety personnel to hunt out bandits throughout the state.

According to him, members of the steering committee for every of the 34 Local Government Areas of the state included the Council Chairman, District Head, Divisional Police Officer and representatives of varied safety companies.

Others, he mentioned, are two representatives of the enterprise group, in addition to representatives of spiritual sects.

The Governor mentioned that the committee would monitor and consider the operation of the KCSWC of their areas and current monthly studies to the Commissioner for Internal Security.

Earlier, the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasiru Mu’azu-Danmusa had mentioned that insecurity was progressively waning throughout the State for the reason that creation of KCSWC.

In their separate remarks, representatives of the Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Aminu Nuhu-Abdulkadir and retired Justice Saddik Abdullahi-Mahuta recommended the governor for taking steps to sort out insecurity within the state.

Nuhu-Abdulkadir, who’s the District Head of Rimi and Abdullahi-Mahuta, the District Head of Malumfashi, respectively, pledged continued assist of the standard rulers to the committee.
