Former Chelsea midfield maestro, John Mikel Obi, has offered advice to his compatriot, Victor Osimhen, suggesting that he should consider a move to his former club.
Osimhen, who has been the subject of transfer speculation to various top European clubs, including the Premier League outfit, Napoli, experienced a shift in circumstances in recent months. This followed Napoli’s controversial TikTok video mocking the striker after he missed a penalty in a league encounter against Bologna.
Amidst the turbulent situation, discussions regarding a new contract have decelerated, leading to expectations of Osimhen’s potential exit from the club next summer.
Mikel, a prominent figure in Chelsea’s successful era, expressed his desire for the young striker to consider the Blues as the next destination in his career: “He’s got the arrogance, he’s got the personality, you can feel someone has walked into the dressing room and that’s what Didier [Drogba] had. With Victor, I will say definitely he’s come close to Didier. My advice for him is to come to Chelsea,” Mikel conveyed during an episode of Obionepodcast.
The 24-year-old, currently recuperating from a hamstring injury, has showcased his prowess with six goals in 10 appearances across all competitions for Napoli in the ongoing season.
