Amidst the discussion, the ex-president emphasized that his administration effectively curtailed insecurity and bolstered the economy, surpassing the performance of previous administrations.

When queried about the attainment of his objectives, Buhari responded, “Not quite, but I would like Nigerians to reflect on the condition of Boko Haram before we came in and also the economy. So security, economy, and fighting corruption were the objectives I set before the government I led. I hope Nigerians have been following it and saw the difference.”

Furthermore, Buhari acknowledged the pivotal role played by the governor of Borno State in tackling the insurgency, attributing his youthful vigor and incorruptibility as instrumental in driving the success achieved in the Northeast region where Boko Haram posed a significant threat.

Regarding employment, Buhari confidently stated, “I achieved my goal in security, economy, employment, and because we succeeded in insecurity, Nigerians developed confidence in their country and they invested more and people from outside came and invested.”

It is evident that President Buhari remains steadfast in his conviction about the strides made under his leadership, championing the cause of national security, economic growth, and job creation. His bold assertions undoubtedly spark introspection and debate among Nigerians, inviting them to critically evaluate the impact of his administration’s policies and actions.
