The Gombe State Executive Council, led by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has greenlit a comprehensive three-year Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF) for submission to the State House of Assembly.

In a communiqué by Ismaila Uba Misilli, the Director General of Press Affairs in Government House, Gombe, it was disclosed that the council’s endorsement sets the stage for meticulous legislative consideration and endorsement by the state legislature regarding the strategic financial blueprint.

Speaking to the press post-meeting, the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Salihu Baba Alkali, elucidated that the framework intricately delineates the state’s projected revenue and expenditure within the encompassing framework of the macroeconomic landscape. Furthermore, he expounded on the rigorous preparation of the MTEF, which integrates diverse assumptions stemming from global, national, regional, and state-level economic dynamics. These assumptions, he highlighted, were crafted based on a comprehensive evaluation of revenue and expenditure parameters.

Additionally, Mijinyawa Tilde, the Commissioner of Information and Culture, who orchestrated the briefing, emphasized that the ratification of the three-year MTEF underscores the state government’s dedication to astute financial planning and accountable fiscal administration. This focus is directed towards ensuring the efficient allocation of resources for developmental ventures and sustainable progress.
