The National Hospital Abuja: Debunking Rumors of Veteran Nollywood Actor Zack Orji’s Referral

In the realm of Nigerian entertainment, veteran Nollywood actor Zack Orji recently made headlines when rumors circulated that he had been referred from the National Hospital Abuja to a private medical facility. However, the hospital’s spokesperson, Tayo Haastrup, on behalf of the Chief Medical Director, swiftly responded to these claims, denying any such referral.

Mr. Orji was admitted to the National Hospital Abuja after falling ill, with reports indicating that he was initially placed in the intensive care unit before being transferred to the ENT ward. Furthermore, he was later moved to the orthopaedic ward in preparation for surgery. It was during this time that a “Leaving Against Medical Advice” form was signed by Mr. Orji’s relatives on January 1, 2024, resulting in the thwarting of all surgical preparations.

The hospital’s spokesman emphasized that the management of the National Hospital Abuja stands firm in their stance, dispelling any insinuations of referring the esteemed actor to a private medical facility. Furthermore, they expressed their well-wishes for Mr. Orji’s swift recovery.

The unfolding events surrounding Mr. Orji’s medical care have captured public attention, and this succinct clarification from the National Hospital Abuja serves to address and dismiss any misinformation. As the Nigerian entertainment community and fans of Zack Orji await further updates on his health, the hospital’s response stands as a testament to their commitment to transparency and quality healthcare.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of accurate reporting in the ever-evolving landscape of media, healthcare, and public figures’ lives, underscoring the need for responsible journalism and factual dissemination of information.
