Huawei’s offices in Mozambique and Tanzania have been recognized as among the world’s top employers by the Top Employer Institute. The company improved its position in the rankings, moving from ninth to eleventh place. Yu Chen, the Human Resources Director for Huawei Southern Africa Region, shared this news in a statement released to the media on Monday.

Chen expressed pride in the growing number of Huawei offices across the Sub-Saharan region that have received recognition as top employers. He highlighted the improved rankings in several markets, noting that Mozambique and Tanzania now join South Africa, Zambia, Kenya, Nigeria, Angola, Ghana, Botswana, Mauritius, and Uganda in earning the Top Employer seal. He also pointed out that the rise of Huawei’s South African office into the top 20 of Top Employers in the country is particularly significant.

Additionally, Chen remarked that the firm’s increased representation in the annual rankings reflects the efforts Huawei has made to enhance employee well-being across the region over the past year. David Plink, the Chief Executive Officer of the Top Employers Institute, commented on the certification program, stating, “Exceptional times bring out the best in people and organizations, and we have witnessed this in our Top Employers certification program this year: exceptional performance from the certified Top Employers 2023.”
