Special Adviser to Governor Siminalayi Fubara on Political Affairs and Strategy, Darlington Orji, has swiftly responded to recent accusations leveled against the administration by Rivers APC Chairman, Tony Okocha.

During a press briefing on Tuesday, Okocha criticized Fubara’s leadership as “visionless” and criticized the government for alleged frivolous spending. In a counter statement, Orji emphasized Governor Fubara’s commitment to transforming Rivers State into a model of development. He highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects, such as road and bridge construction, the rehabilitation of the Psychiatric Hospital, and the revival of employment initiatives at Ignatius Aguru University, as key achievements of the administration.

Addressing the accusations head-on, Orji reiterated that Governor Fubara remains undeterred and focused on meeting the needs of the people of Rivers State. “The governor is actively overseeing the construction of roads and bridges, including the Alesha Road project in Eleme,” Orji stated, as reported by NAN on Friday. He also pointed out the significance of the ring road project, a hallmark initiative of Governor Fubara’s administration.

Furthermore, Orji highlighted the governor’s dedication to the welfare of civil servants, noting the recent promotion and payment of salary arrears to local government workers in line with the 30 percent minimum wage directive. He emphasized that Governor Fubara’s actions are driven by a genuine desire to fulfill the aspirations of the people, evident in initiatives like the rehabilitation of the Psychiatric Hospital and the reinvigoration of employment programs at Ignatius Aguru University.

In conclusion, Orji affirmed the widespread acceptance of Governor Fubara among the populace, attributing it to his administration’s responsiveness to the needs and preferences of the people. The tangible impact of Fubara’s governance, as seen in infrastructure development and social welfare programs, underscores his unwavering commitment to advancing the state’s progress.

With a steadfast focus on delivering tangible results and prioritizing the well-being of the citizens, Governor Fubara’s administration continues to forge ahead, undeterred by detractors.
