Napoli president Aurelio de Laurentiis has insisted that Nigeria international Victor Osimhen is not for sale, despite media reports linking the striker with a move away from the club this summer, Sports Extra reports. De Laurentiis made the statement while updating on Osimhen’s future amid rumors that Manchester United are preparing a “mega‑money” swoop for the talismanic forward. The Italian club’s boss’s comments will not encourage United manager Erik ten Hag, who is reportedly torn between signing Osimhen or Harry Kane to add a new marquee No. 9 to his ranks.

When asked about Manchester United’s interest, de Laurentiis told Bild: “I can tell you that Osimhen is not for sale. Our players are in demand but I don’t have to sell anyone. We don’t have any debts.” Osimhen’s contract runs until the summer of 2025, giving Napoli full control over any potential bids for the season’s leading scorer. The former Lille attacker currently tops the Serie A scoring charts, having netted 16 goals in 17 appearances for the Partenopei.

United may have to look elsewhere for a striker after being told unequivocally that Osimhen will not leave this summer. Chelsea are also said to be tracking the Nigerian, but it is highly likely he will remain at Napoli, where he is playing the best football of his career.
