Arteta: Arsenal’s tough start, lack of ability hindered Man City draw

Mikel Arteta: Arsenal’s Tough Start and Tactical Struggles Cost them Against Manchester City

In a thrilling Premier League encounter, Arsenal’s chances of beating Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium slipped away due to a difficult start and tactical struggles. Speaking after the match, Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta revealed the reasons behind his team’s inability to secure a win.

Arsenal came from behind to lead 2-1 at halftime, thanks to goals from Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel MagalhĂŁes, which followed Erling Haaland’s early strike. However, the Gunners’ hopes were dented when Leandro Trossard was sent off, leaving them with 10 men.

Despite this setback, Arsenal continued to battle, only for Manchester City to snatch a late equalizer through John Stones in stoppage time. This ensured both teams shared the spoils, finishing the match 2-2.

Arteta praised his team’s resilience and ability to adapt to the challenging circumstances, stating, “We had a very difficult start. We struggled to control certain spaces; we didn’t have enough ability. We adapted to that context in the best possible way.”

The Arsenal boss also acknowledged the magnitude of the task his team faced against Pep Guardiola’s side, saying, “You cannot be given a more difficult situation against that opponent, and I’m so proud of my team.”

While Arsenal will undoubtedly be disappointed with the outcome, Arteta’s team showed commendable spirit and determination to push Manchester City to the limit.
