The Ogun State Police Command has arrested two suspects who allegedly purchased the stolen car of Kehinde and Bukola Fatinoye, a couple killed on New Year’s Day in Abeokuta along with their only son, Oreoluwa. The police, which paraded three suspects for the murder on Friday, announced that the two individuals were apprehended on Monday after the arrested suspects confessed.

Police Public Relations Officer SP Abimbola Oyeyemi disclosed that the two suspects, Azeez Usman and Owolaja Aanuoluwapo, were arrested at different locations in the state. According to the confession, the killers sold the car to Azeez Usman for N150,000. Oyeyemi recounted that after killing the couple, the suspects seized their son Oreoluwa and their adopted child Felix Olorunyomi, tied them with rope, and placed them in the boot of a Hyundai. They then drove the victims to the Ogun River bridge in the Adigbe area and threw them into the river. The suspects later parked the car in the Oke‑Ata area of Abeokuta, contacted Owolaja Aanuoluwapo, who retrieved the vehicle and drove it to Azeez Usman’s workshop. There, the car was dismantled and sold in parts.

The police investigation revealed that the two buyers were aware the car was stolen but proceeded with the purchase at the agreed price. Oyeyemi added that Commissioner of Police Frank Mba has ordered all suspects to be arraigned in court as soon as the investigation is concluded.
