A transport worker, Ibrahim Yahaya, allegedly stabbed his colleague, Kabiru Abdullahi, to death during an argument at the Kanuri Motor Park in the Ebute Metta area of Lagos State. According to Metro, the two men were at the park when an argument broke out, which escalated into a fight. During the altercation, Kabiru reportedly produced a knife and stabbed Yahaya in the head. After the attack, Yahaya left the scene and sought medical treatment on Wednesday, 15 February 2023.
The following day, Yahaya allegedly returned to the park and, in retaliation, used a knife to stab Kabiru in the neck. Witnesses who saw the attack quickly rushed Kabiru to Ebute General Hospital, but he died on the way. His body was later deposited at the Infectious Disease Hospital morgue in Yaba.
State Police Public Relations Officer SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the incident and said the suspect had been arrested. He explained that police received information on 16 February 2023 at 3:15 pm about an earlier stabbing that occurred on 15 February at 8:30 pm, when Kabiru allegedly stabbed Ibrahim Yahaya in the head. Hundeyin added that on 16 February at 2:30 pm, Yahaya retaliated by stabbing Kabiru in the neck, causing severe injuries that led to Kabiru’s death despite being rushed to the hospital. The investigation remains ongoing.
