Seth Meyers Mocks Elon Musk for Complaining About Schadenfreude Over Tesla’s Struggles

Seth Meyers mocks Elon Musk's bid for sympathy over Tesla's cratering stock

Elon Musk’s Hypocrisy Exposed: Late Night Host Seth Meyers Calls Out CEO’s Double Standard

In a scathing critique, Late Night host Seth Meyers has taken aim at Elon Musk, the billionaire CEO of Tesla, for his unexpected display of sensitivity. Musk recently lashed out at Minnesota Governor Tim Walz for taking pleasure in Tesla’s plummeting stock prices. However, as Meyers pointed out, Musk’s outrage rings hollow, given his own track record of cutting federal jobs and benefits without hesitation.

Tesla’s stock has indeed taken a significant hit, with sales declining worldwide as consumers boycott the company’s vehicles. The electric car manufacturer has also faced numerous recalls, further eroding public trust. Meanwhile, Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) has been aggressively dismantling the U.S. government, slashing essential services and aid to those in need. It’s no wonder that many people are reveling in Tesla’s misfortune, including Governor Walz.

Musk’s reaction to the schadenfreude has been to label Walz a "creep" and "huge jerk" for celebrating Tesla’s struggles. However, as Meyers aptly noted, "You’re slashing nutritional aid, veteran’s benefits, and social security, and you expect us to feel bad about a stock price?" The hypocrisy is stark, and Meyers couldn’t resist highlighting the absurdity of Musk’s stance. "I can’t believe this is what happened to the ‘fuck your feelings’ crowd," Meyers quipped. "They went from ‘cry more, libs’ to ‘stop making me cry, libs.’"

Meyers also called out Musk’s brazenness in criticizing Walz, given his own history of indulging in theatrical displays of cutting jobs and benefits. "When you run around with a chainsaw on stage, you’re celebrating cutting jobs and benefits," Meyers said, referencing a past incident where Musk wielded a chainsaw on stage. In a parting shot, Meyers quoted William Shakespeare, saying, "The jerk store called and they’re running out of you."

As the controversy surrounding Tesla and Musk continues to unfold, one thing is clear: the billionaire CEO’s double standard has been exposed, and the public is taking notice. With his company’s woes showing no signs of abating, Musk would do well to reflect on his own actions and consider the consequences of his words and deeds. As the world watches, one thing is certain – the tables have turned, and Musk is now on the receiving end of the very same criticism he once dished out with such relish.
