Crocs and Hollister have removed singer D4vd from their latest campaign following an investigation into a woman’s death. A body was discovered in a car registered to D4vd—whose real name is David Anthony Burke—in a Hollywood tow yard on September 8. The Los Angeles Police Department found the body in a body bag inside the impounded Tesla, and the LA County Medical Examiner identified the victim as a 5‑foot‑1‑inch female with a tattoo on her right finger that reads “Shh…”. Burke’s representative said he is fully cooperating with authorities.
In response to the ongoing investigation, both brands have dropped D4vd from the campaign and removed all images featuring him from their channels. In a joint statement they said, “We are aware of this developing story. With respect to the current situation, we have removed campaign content featuring D4vd while the investigation continues.” The campaign promoted the “Classic Unfurgettable Crocs,” a collaboration that combined Crocs’ classic footwear with Hollister’s fleece and had launched on September 2 with D4vd as the face.
Despite the controversy, D4vd’s World Tour continues as planned. The singer is touring in support of his debut studio album, *Withered*, released on April 25, and his next performance is scheduled for September 10 at the Truman in Kansas City, Missouri. The investigation into the woman’s death remains ongoing, and no further details have been released. D4vd’s team has not commented on how the investigation might affect his tour or future performances. The removal of D4vd from the Crocs and Hollister campaign reflects the brands’ decision to distance themselves from the singer while the case is under investigation.
