India’s national cricket team will kick off its Asia Cup 2025 campaign against the United Arab Emirates (UAE) on September 10 in Dubai. Ahead of the tournament, the squad took part in a light‑hearted photoshoot. A behind‑the‑scenes video shared by Sony Sports Network captured Indian captain Suryakumar Yadav and pacer Arshdeep Singh sharing humorous moments. During the shoot, Yadav was asked to say “3…2…1” while holding a clapper board; he replied jokingly, “Accha, woh bhi main hi bolu?” (Oh, I should be the one to say that). When asked about his experience in Dubai, Singh quipped, “Garmi lag rahi hai bhaiya” (I’m feeling hot here).
India, led by Yadav, will next face Pakistan on September 14 and Oman on September 19 in the group stage. The team is placed in Group A alongside the UAE, Pakistan and Oman, while Group B comprises Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Hong Kong. As defending champions—having won the previous edition in 2023—India will aim to dominate the tournament and retain the title.
The Asia Cup 2025 will be the third edition played in the T20 format, following the 2016 and 2022 tournaments. India lifted the trophy in 2016 but failed to reach the final in 2022. With a strong squad and experienced players, the side is poised to improve its performance and reclaim the championship in 2025.
