APC Chieftain Predicts Party Takeover in South-South

The All Progressives Congress (APC) is poised to make significant gains in the South-South region of Nigeria, particularly in Delta State, in the 2027 general elections. According to Chief Ayiri Emami, a prominent APC chieftain, the party’s popularity is increasing in the region. He attributed this growth to the fact that the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party in Delta are comprised of disgruntled politicians who lack the political clout to win elections.

Emami stated that many members of the Labour Party in Delta are former APC or PDP members who are dissatisfied with their previous parties. He noted that the Labour Party lacks a solid structure, which will hinder its ability to perform well in the upcoming elections. In contrast, the APC has made significant strides in uniting its members in Delta, with at least 80% of party members working together. Emami emphasized the importance of bringing all aggrieved members on board, as every individual is crucial in politics.

The APC chieftain expressed confidence in the party’s chances in Delta and the South-South region, citing the national party’s influence and President Bola Tinubu’s leadership. He believes that the party will perform better in the 2027 governorship and presidential elections than it did in 2023. Emami, a loyal supporter of President Tinubu, praised the president’s commitment to addressing the region’s issues and his efforts to block loopholes in the petroleum sector.

Since President Tinubu’s assumption of office, several projects have been initiated in the region, demonstrating his dedication to the area’s development. Emami noted that those who opposed President Tinubu’s presidency were primarily concerned about their shady dealings being exposed and blocked. He emphasized that the president’s knowledge of the region and his commitment to its growth have earned him support from the people.

As the 2027 general elections approach, the APC’s growing popularity in the South-South region, particularly in Delta State, is expected to have a significant impact on the outcome. With the party’s unity and President Tinubu’s leadership, the APC is well-positioned to make notable gains in the region. The party’s success will depend on its ability to maintain unity and continue to address the region’s needs, ultimately determining the outcome of the 2027 elections.
