The Nigerian Air Force has carried out a series of precision airstrikes against terrorist and bandit enclaves in several states, inflicting heavy casualties and damaging enemy infrastructure. According to Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, Director of Public Relations and Information, the operations took place on 9 November in Borno, Kwara, Katsina, Zamfara and Kaduna States.
The strikes were part of Operation HADIN KAI and Operation FANSAN YAMMA and targeted hideouts, logistics hubs and weapons storage facilities used by the Islamic State of West Africa Province (ISWAP) and other terrorist groups. In Borno State, the air force focused on areas around Mallam Fatori and Shuwaram, destroying enemy hideouts and crippling mobility in the Lake Chad Basin.
In Kwara and Katsina States, airstrikes hit bandit hideouts at Garin Dandi, Chigogo and Zango Hill. Similar operations were conducted in Zamfara and Kaduna States, where terrorists on motorcycles attempting to flee along the Birnin Gwari–Funtua axis were engaged and neutralized.
The Nigerian Air Force has intensified its counter‑terrorism and counter‑banditry efforts in recent weeks, aiming to degrade terrorist and criminal networks across the northern region. By deploying intelligence‑driven airpower, the force seeks to safeguard citizens and strengthen national security. These latest operations reflect the renewed tempo under Air Marshal Sunday Aneke, Chief of the Air Staff, and form part of a broader military campaign against terrorism and banditry. The strikes have resulted in the neutralization of scores of terrorists and bandits and the destruction of their infrastructure, underscoring the Air Force’s commitment to protecting citizens and enhancing national security through effective airpower.
